- Results Just Out for Distance Appaloosa Breeder’s Futurity for 2004

Your young Appaloosa athlete could be a future cash jackpot winner by accepting the Distance Futurity Challenge.

Topping the age 6 Endurance Division was Chelsea Color Bee at the Camp Far West 50 Mile Endurance Ride in CA on Sept 5th. Chelsea Color Bee began his trail career when he was nominated as a yearling based on his sire’s qualifying nomination. There is also a provision for a young nominee’s owners to pay the appaloosa sire’s nomination if nomination not otherwise possible. Color is owner and ridden by Judy Long of Haywood , Ca.

For the 5 yr old division winner Sassy Bee Britches was ridden by Mary Ellen Sattler, owned by Gail Otto of China Mi in a 25 mile LD at Spook Run Ride in Indiana October 29th. Boogie’s King-Bee from Carol Ann Beckner’s CAB APPS was the winning sire of both of these entries.

The Distance Appaloosa Breeders Futurity, a non-profit group, was established in 1986 to promote distance appaloosas and their registered ApHC sires The cash payback builds each year until at age 5 the nominees may compete in the Competitive division, then at age 6 they qualify against other nominees in Endurance. Payback is made to both the winners and their sires, so promising Appaloosa sires should get started early.
