DISTANCE APPALOOSA BREEDER'S FUTURITY BYLAWS
STALLION NOMINATION shall be $ 25 per year for a registered Appaloosa stallion plus donation of a stud
service to be offered for sale for no less than 1/2 of his fee. ApHC stallion is eligible based on payment of fee,
but if service sells owner will receive a paid-up nomination. If donation of stud fee is not possible,there shall be
an additional nomination charge. Service sales add to 2-yr-old nominees payback.
TO NOMINATE, foal must be the offspring of a stallion nominated up to the year the foal would have been age two.

FUTURITY PAYBACK shall be split to be paid 50% to 5 yr old Competitive and 50% to 6 yr. old Endurance
entries. Both divisions shall be held at an ApHC approved ride sometime after August of each year.
Nominees to be notified at least one month in advance.
OWNERS OF STALLIONS siring 1st place in each division shall be paid .
FUTURITY PAYBACK shall be as follows: (after deduction of Jackpot, Sire Awards, & 10% of remainder for office
charges, postage, etc.)

If no qualifier, monies will go back to futurity account for advertising and expenses.
TO BE ELIGIBLE for participation in the futurity the nominated horse , with ApHC show papers must have
completed 1 approved competitive ride or for endurance 1 approved AERC ride and present proof by date of
futurity. Copies of registration papers must be submitted by completing payment date.
IF SOLD nominated entry shall be kept eligible by making sustaining payments and notification of change of owner.
----------------- JACKPOT for Older Offspring
There shall be a incentive payment to the non-futurity entry who has the highest finishing position in endurance or highest scoring in competitive at designated ride. There will be a office charge to participate and regular registered Appaloosas must be the offspring of stallions nominated the current year. The winning sire's owner will also be paid . This is available only when at least 8 stallions are nominated effective 1987.
ANY PROTEST shall be accompanied by a fee within 10 days of infraction. Protest will be settled by a person
or persons agreed upon by both sides.
THESE RULES shall apply to all years nominations. However, changes may be added as necessary to future years
before nominations begin.
ADDENDUM TO DABF (effective 98 per consensus) (Last few years have had added to paybacks)
Leeway shall be given in compliance of particulars of the bylaws to promote distance appaloosa sires when it can be agreed upon by all participants (of same year) under signature. If not agreeable bylaws continue to be followed. However, if a date and place of competition is established it cannot be reversed even if no one shows up.
