Winners in Distance Appaloosa Breeders Futurity - Past and Present


Chief Chelsea Bee, a 5 yr old stallion owned by Carol Ann Beckner, CAB APPS, Modoc IN won the ‘99 Competitive Division of the Distance Appaloosa Breeders Futurity on August 14 at Paint Creek Park, Ohio in the All Kidding Aside 25 mile ride.

Appaloosa stallion owners can nominate their stud services to be sold at not less than ½ the normal fee. The futurity foal nominations fees start as a yearling or 2 yr old leading up to Competitive ride running at age 5 and Endurance goes at age 6. Paybacks are split 50/50 to each division, with payback for owner of stallion winner also. Current nominations made by

Winning Sire for 99 was Boogie's King-Bee, Leading ApHC sire of distance medallion winners, also from CAB APPS, Modoc In.

Notable past Futurity winners have done well in
distance competition this year. Truly Trusty Bee, now owned and ridden by Gail Otto, China Michigan is placing 2nd LW in Great Lakes Distance Riding Association Endurance, Extended and Chelsea Bee Roman owned and ridden by Chris Dyer, Detroit, Michigan is placing 3rd LW GLDRA Endurance , Limited. Both of these great teams also successfully completed the Shore to Shore 250 Mile AERC Endurance rides across Michigan, 5 successive days in August.

2000 Winning Competitive horse

Flee Bee Flite (also a registrered Rangerbred) owned and ridden by Gail Otto, China Michigan rode this 5 yr old mare to a 25 mile competitive win at Brighten Stables, Howell Michigan on October 7. The winning sire for 2000 was again Boogie's King-Bee owned by CAB APPS Carol Ann Beckner from Indiana. There was no endurance winner for this year.
